Curious Minds 26/27 Season Ticket

Curious Minds is back in the Soutar Theatre for its 11th season of Friday evening lectures around the general theme of 'Contemporary Science in Scotland'.

Every year they ask some of the top academics and researchers in Scotland to come along to Perth to discuss their work - in a way that normal mortals can understand. PSNS ask them to avoid “dumbing it down” but also to avoid excessive jargon or impenetrable equations. It has been enormously successful. They don’t shy away from tacking really difficult subjects – but in a way that makes them accessible to everybody. You can check out some of their previous talks here.

This year, they continue the usual eclectic mix. You can learn about the story of birds or the science behind your cup of coffee – in only a few months. You can hear about some of the latest advances of humanoid robotics. Or you can discover new information about the spectacular life of minerals. And, if you have ever wondered how life came from the stars, then a professor from Heriot-Watt will give an insight into the primordial soup from where we came.

All talks will be held in the Soutar Theatre, AK Bell Library, starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets for each of the live talks are £4.50 for PSNS members and £8 for non-members (inc. booking fee). PSNS Members can purchase a season ticket for all 10 talks at a reduced price.
