On open days our Wester Pickston site will open at 11am through to 4pm for the general public, with rides being offered on member’s steam and electric locomotives (7¼″ and 5″ gauge engines will be running on our 2km of track). The model railway shed (63A) will be open show casing O, OO and N gauge layouts, and the 32mm gauge garden railway will be running. Also, the workshop will be open for viewing, so you can see how members work on their projects.
Tickets for train rides will be available on the day at the station:
They accept all major credit / debit cards or cash.
In addition to all of this, there will be a cafe open on site, serving tea, coffee and cakes. There is also a grassy picnic area where you are welcome to bring your own food and watch the trains rolling in and out of the main station.
Please note that there is limited parking on site – please follow the directions of members who will be on hand to help you.
