John has spent more than 35 years working on ocean science – from the North-Atlantic Circulation to sediments in the Antarctic. For the past 15 years he has been a leading figure in mapping the UK’s shallow seabed using Autonomous Underwater Vehicles. There’s very little he doesn’t know about the hidden landscapes off our shores.
