Award-winning Scottish violinist Daniel Stroud is a 2023/24 Tunnell Trust Young Artist, and winner of the prestigious 2021-22 Manoug Parikian Award from Help Musicians UK and the esteemed Harrison-Frank Family Foundation Award in 2022.
A semi-finalist in the Royal Overseas League International Competition, Daniel won 2nd prize in the Royal Academy’s Winifred Small Solo Violin Competition in 2021. Daniel has made solo debuts at the Petworth and Edinburgh Festivals and has given chamber and orchestral performances at the Aldeburgh, Hellensmusic and the Chipping Campden Festival.
Chinese pianist Hanzhi Zhang is a classical concert pianist and chamber musician. Hanzhi has performed at prestigious concerts both in her home country and overseas. She studied at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing as well as the Royal Academy of Music, graduating from both with distinction before being awarded the prestigious DipRAM from the Academy with a Master of Arts. She was invited to play in Academy Song Circles Series, Petworth Festival, Hoylake Chamber Concert Society, Crying Out Loud Concert Series at Wigmore Hall, West wind Series and the Tunnell Trust concert series.
This young and exciting duo, recent winners of a Tunnell Trust award, will be performing MacMillan Kiss on Wood, Mozart Violin Sonata No.27 in G MajorK.27, Brahms Violin Sonata No.2 in A Major Op.100, Strauss Violin Sonata in EFlat Op.18, Ravel Tzigane – Rapsodie de concert.
