We welcome from the Universities of Aberdeen and Glasgow, Susannah Thomasson soprano, Iris Lam soprano and Reuben Thomasson piano who will be performing Purcell's six short duets for 2 sopranos and a second half of songs and piano solos for a lunchtime concert of summer music to enjoy and relax to.

Susannah, who lives in Troon, is a 19 year old soprano studying music education at Aberdeen University. Her love for singing began as a chorister at Salisbury Cathedral in 2015, with whom she appeared on Radio 3, toured Germany and the USA, and released two cd’s. Following her ARSM diploma in Flute, Susannah spent a year at the Conservatoire de Lausanne studying flute with Sandra Latour. Susannah studies voice with Gillian Jack, sings with the university chapel choir, opera society, and is a choral scholar at St Machar’s Cathedral.

Iris Lam balances her singing career with her studies as a second-year architecture student at the Glasgow School of Art. Originally from Hong Kong, she attended Godolphin School in Salisbury, where she began a singing duo partnership with Susannah and achieved national recognition as a soloist, winning awards in the Rotary Young Musician and Pro Corda Music competitions. Iris regularly performs as a soloist and in ensembles in Scotland. She has sung principal opera roles with the Glasgow Opera Society, including Lisa in Bellini’s La Sonnambula and Mary in Vaughan Williams’ Hugh the Drover. Following recent solo recitals across the UK, Iris is eager to continue developing her music career and pursuing new professional opportunities.

Reuben Thomasson is a social and economic history student at Glasgow University. As a young music scholar Reuben specialized in double bass and jazz piano, was principal double bass with the West of Scotland Schools Symphony Orchestra and became Dux at Marr College, Troon. Currently Reuben plays double bass with The Kelvin Ensemble and is a church musician at St Ninians Troon where he studies the organ with Alan Tavener.
