Explore the evolving story of Afghanistan over the past 25 years with acclaimed author DS MacDonald. A sociologist by training, David brings firsthand insights from his work as a Senior Drug Demand Reduction Specialist for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) from 2000 to 2004. His extensive experience includes advising on drugs and development for UN agencies and organizations across countries such as Pakistan, Liberia, Uganda, Egypt, Lebanon, Thailand, Comoros, and Morocco.

David is the author of several influential works, including Drugs in Afghanistan: Opium, Outlaws, and Scorpion Tales. His latest book, the novel Elvis in Kabul, was published by The Book Guild Ltd in November 2021.
