Outer Spaces’ Partnership with Perth UNESCO City of Craft and Folk Art
Outer Spaces resident artist Jaz Grady will host a fun and engaging workshop celebrating Perth UNESCO City of Craft and Folk Art and the opening of the new Perth Museum, which will open its doors on Saturday 30th March 2024 after a £27 million redevelopment project.
This workshop offers participants the opportunity to co-create a bright large-scale artwork with Jaz, exploring sketching techniques to produce portraits and self-portraits of the people that call Perth home! There will be time spent En Plein Air in the streets, as well as time in the Outer Spaces studio @ Average Gallery, using paint, mops, and brushes to create a truly collaborative artwork with residents from the local area.
Jaz is a Perth-based artist who currently occupies one of Outer Spaces temporary art spaces on the High Street called Average Gallery, with their Average Artists delivering a programme of exhibitions and free workshops, working primarily with the LGBTQIA+ community and Allies.
This project is funded by Perth UNESCO City of Craft and Folk Art and Outer Spaces.

Average Gallery is currently taking up space in the middle of Perth High Street. This isn't a regular gallery – it's a hub of inspiration, connection and activism. From the ground floor up our space turns in to artist studios and collective meeting rooms, with over 10+ artists and groups accessing the space at different time of the day and night.
