Festive Cyanotype Card Making Workshop

Join us for a Festive Cyanotype Card Making workshop at the Community Dark Room.

In this hands-on session you will learn how to create beautiful cyan-blue prints using objects and negatives. Make a unique Christmas card for someone special or a seasonal print to give as a gift. You'll learn how to mix the chemicals, coat your paper and expose it to light to create stunning cyan-blue prints.

Get creative with winter-inspired designs by using natural materials or seasonal imagery to make your own unique creations. All materials including chemicals and watercolour paper will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own small items to incorporate into your prints.

Three new Community Assets are available in Perth City Centre: a glass kiln, a ceramics kiln, and a photography dark room. These assets are tools that members of our local community can use without the costs of a regular membership or rent. You only pay for what you use, for instance for the kilns, you will pay for the electricity used, and for the dark room a small fee towards the replenishment of materials used.

In this session, you will also get a tour of the Community Dark Room and an insight into what is involved in processing and printing your own black and white films. There will be an opportunity to register an interest in future photography and darkroom workshops.
