Ignite your creativity at our writing workshops inspired by the last letter of Mary, Queen of Scots and writings about her by celebrated poets, including Liz Lochhead and Robert Burns. Using these texts as inspiration, you’ll write poetry and prose in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere, sharing as you go. No experience is necessary. These workshops are perfect for writers of all levels – come write, share and be inspired!
You will be guided by Beth Godfrey, writer and facilitator, who has hosted creative writing sessions for the National Library of Scotland, Glasgow Women's Library and Open Book. Beth was the Stanza Slam winner 2023 and is passionate about how language connects us.
Workshop 1 – Saturday 21 February 2026, 10am – 12pm
Workshop 2 – Saturday 28 February 2026, 10am – 12pm
Each workshop stands alone, or you can book both if you would like to continue developing your writing.
