Explore Mary, Queen of Scots’ Last Letter through a specially designed audio descriptive tour. The tour will offer detailed, spoken descriptions of Mary’s final letter, written on the eve of her execution and now on loan from the National Library of Scotland. You will also have the opportunity to visit the AK Bell Library to hear about the companion display, which includes Robert Burns’ moving poem Lament for Mary Queen of Scots and Liz Lochhead’s play Mary Queen of Scots Got Her Head Chopped Off.
Through careful description and expert guidance, the tour will allow blind and partially sighted visitors to experience the visual qualities of these manuscripts from handwriting to layout and presentation, alongside their historical and cultural significance.
Places are limited, early booking is recommended
Please note this tour starts at Perth Museum and ends the AK Bell Library. There is a ten minute walk between venues.
